Hi, everybody! If you’re reading this, that means I’ve actually gotten a visitor to my new site, which makes this a pretty exciting day for me. I’m really new to blogging and websites, etc., so it’s a big deal for me to be “published.”
My name is Sabine (pronounced “suh – bean.”) I started this site to inform people about healthy living. I’m only 15 right now, but I actually know more than most people my age about health. I used to search the internet for information about a healthy diet, and how to lose weight, etc. There were so many different websites out there claiming to be credible, each one telling me different things about how to “eat right”: “eat a banana for breakfast.” “Eat broccoli and red peppers to speed up your metabolism.” “Go on the Yoplait diet and buy a bunch of yucky fat – free yogurts.” Well guess what? I tried it all, and none of it made me lose weight. More importantly, none of it made me healthy.
It got to a point where I was actually starving myself, and my parents had to argue with me at every meal to try to get me to eat. My life became totally miserable and depressing, and I couldn’t think about anything except food. I started seeing a dietician, who helped me get back on the right track and eat a healthy amount of food without getting fat (my mortal fear.)
I’m creating this website to try and save some people all that time and trouble I had to go through to reach health. Not to seem arrogant like “I’m going to save people’s souls” or anything like that. It’s just that if any of you out there reading this are looking for information on how to find that healthy balance of eating, exercise, and all that stuff, I can help you out. I’m not going to claim I’m the expert: if you want an expert, go see a dietician. I’m still learning how to live like a normal person (i.e. not having to know how many calories are in everything I eat, etc.) so I won’t say I’m the perfect example of a healthy individual. But I do have knowledge that could be useful to you. Plus, I have an ever – growing list of smoothie recipes I plan to put up here. So please keep visiting, and check out the recipes!
