Pumpkin Chocolate Cake Concoction

I made these chocolate pumpkin muffins a few days ago, and at first I wasn’t too psyched about them. They were okay, but they needed more sugar. However, my mom loved them, and stressed that I shouldn’t change a thing the next time I make them. (I still plan to add more sugar next time, but don’t tell her I said that.)

I’ve heard of people making milkshakes and adding cupcakes. So I figured, why not create a healthy twist on that concept, and put a muffin in a smoothie? It’d be a way of using up the muffins faster, as well as the fact that the resulting smoothie just happened to be THE MOST DELICIOUS SMOOTHIE I HAVE EVER TASTED!!!!! It didn’t even seem right to be drinking this at breakfast. It tasted like a dessert. But it is very healthy, providing lots of vitamin A plus a fair amount of calcium and protein. I think that’s enough of an excuse to practically have a milkshake in the A.M. At least, when that shake tastes this great! Here is my recipe…

Pumpkin Chocolate Cake Concoction

If you love chocolate, if you love the flavors of Fall, or if you’re just a normal human being with a natural taste for the decadent and yummy you will love this smoothie. It’s like drinking a snowstorm in candyland made of chocolate, with little cakey bits floating around in the wind and pumpkin clouds. Highly recommended for any time of day!

Ingredients:

  • 1 banana
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 Jello pudding “Original” chocolate vanilla swirls flavor snack cup
  • 1 tbsp fudge topping
  • 1/4 cup Grandma Hoerner’s pumpkin butter
  • 5-6 ice cubes
  • 1 chocolate or chocolate pumpkin muffin of any kind (I used one of my chocolatey pumpkin spice muffins)

Directions:

Pour all ingredients except the muffin in blender and blend until the ice is crushed completely. Stop the blender and break the muffin into about four pieces. Drop them into the smoothie and use a knife to push them down towards the blades. Blend the muffin into the smoothie for like one second. (If it is blended too long it won’t be distinctive cakey chunks.)

Serve immediately. (As if you needed any more encouragement not to wait before diving into deliciousness!)
